Terms of Service
Last updated: October 23, 2026
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of pacificstreetlaw.com and any related pages, forms, content and features (together, the “Site”). The Site is operated by Pacific Street Legal and Regulatory P.C. (“Pacific Street,” “we,” “us” or “our”). Our Privacy Policy and Attorney Advertising notice are part of these terms. By using the Site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
Informational Content Only, Not Legal Advice
The Site describes our firm, attorneys that provide services through Pacific Street (including as contract attorneys) and the services we offer. Articles, FAQs, practice descriptions and other materials on the Site are general information. They are not legal advice and may not reflect the most recent legal developments. The law differs from state to state and changes often, and the right answer to a legal question depends on the specific facts. Before relying on any of it, get advice from a lawyer who knows your circumstances.
No Attorney-Client Relationship
Using the Site, reading our content, sending us a message, submitting an intake form or contacting one of our lawyers by email, phone or messaging app does not make you our client. An attorney-client relationship with Pacific Street begins when you formally become a client of Pacific Street only after we agree in writing to represent you. Before we do that, we run a conflict check and decide whether to accept the work, and we ask you to sign an engagement letter that sets out the scope of the work and our fees.
Once you are a client, your engagement letter governs our relationship. Where these Terms and an engagement letter differ, the engagement letter governs.
Contacting Us and Sending Information
Please do not send confidential or sensitive facts about a legal matter, and anything urgent, until we tell you in writing that conflicts are clear and we can take the matter. When you first contact us, give us only what our intake form asks for: your name, contact details, the names of the other people or companies involved and a short, general description of what you need.
Anything you share with us before that point may lose the protection of confidentiality and privilege, and our receipt of it will not, on its own, prevent Pacific Street from representing another person or company in the same or a related matter, including one whose interests are adverse to yours, except to the extent the New York Rules of Professional Conduct or other applicable professional rules require otherwise.
Writing to us has no effect on any deadline or limitations period that applies to you. If timing matters, speak with a lawyer right away instead of waiting to hear back from us through the Site.
Email, Messaging and Collaboration Platforms
We communicate with clients through email and, where a client prefers, through third-party platforms such as Slack, Telegram, WhatsApp and Signal. Those platforms are operated by other companies under their own terms and privacy policies, which we do not control. Internet communications are not always secure. For prospective clients, use of these channels does not create an attorney-client relationship. For clients, the channels we use and any related security arrangements are addressed in the engagement letter or agreed with the client.
Our Use of Technology and AI
Pacific Street uses technology, AI included, for research, drafting, document review and matter management. Some of these tools are developed by Pacific Street Systems (described below) and some are provided by third parties under enterprise agreements. An attorney reviews each piece of legal work before it goes to a client.
Any interactive feature on the Site, such as a chat or question tool, provides general information only. Its responses are generated automatically, may be incomplete or wrong, and are not reviewed by a lawyer before you see them. They are not legal advice and do not create an attorney-client relationship. Information you submit to the Site is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use information submitted through the Site to train public or general-purpose AI models.
Pacific Street Systems
Pacific Street Systems, Inc. develops software, including legal technology that our lawyers may use. Its affiliate, Pacific Street Systems LLC, provides technology and related support services. In these Terms, we refer to the two companies together as “Pacific Street Systems.” Pacific Street Systems is under common ownership and management with Pacific Street Law, but it is a separate business and is not a law firm. Pacific Street Systems does not provide legal services or legal advice, and the protections that come with an attorney-client relationship, including confidentiality and privilege, do not apply to its services. Legal services are provided only by Pacific Street Law and its lawyers. Your use of any Pacific Street Systems product or website is governed by Pacific Street Systems’ own terms and privacy policy.
Intellectual Property and Limited License
The Site and its content, including text, graphics, logos, designs, software and the selection and arrangement of materials, are owned by Pacific Street or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. “Pacific Street,” “Pacific Street Law,” “Pacific Street Systems,” and related names and logos are trademarks of Pacific Street or its affiliates. We give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable license to view the Site and to download or print individual pages for your own personal or internal business reference, as long as you keep all copyright and other notices intact. Any other use requires our prior written permission.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the Site for any unlawful, fraudulent or harmful purpose, or in violation of these Terms;
- upload or transmit malware or any code designed to disrupt, damage or gain unauthorized access to the Site or any system or data;
- interfere with the Site's operation or security, or try to get around any access control or rate limit;
- use bots, crawlers or other automated tools to copy the Site’s content in bulk in order to republish it, or to build a dataset or product that competes with Pacific Street, unless we have agreed in writing;
- frame or mirror the Site, or present its content as your own;
- impersonate any person, misstate your affiliation with any person or company, or suggest that Pacific Street endorses you or your products; or
- submit false information through any form on the Site.
Search engines and AI providers may crawl, index and use the Site’s public content, including to train AI models and to answer users’ questions, in line with any crawler instructions we post (for example, robots.txt or llms.txt).
Third-Party Links and Content
The Site may link to or display content from third parties, such as news articles, publications, regulators and the platforms listed above. We provide these links for convenience. We do not control third-party sites or content and are not responsible for their accuracy, availability or privacy practices. A link does not mean we endorse the site or its operator.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pacific Street disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. We do not promise that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors or harmful components, or that any content is current.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pacific Street and its partners, attorneys, employees and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill or business opportunity, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Site, even if we have been told such damages are possible. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Site will not exceed fifty U.S. dollars (US$50). This section applies only to use of the Site. It does not limit any obligation we owe a client under an engagement letter or under the Rules of Professional Conduct, and it does not apply to any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pacific Street and its partners, attorneys, employees, contractors, and agents from any claims, losses and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.
Governing Law and Venue
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to the Site are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any such dispute must be brought in a state or federal court sitting in New York County, New York, and you submit to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. To the extent permitted by law, each party waives any right to a jury trial in any such dispute. Disputes about legal services we provide to a client are governed by the client's engagement letter and applicable law, including any right the client may have to fee arbitration.
Changes to the Site and These Terms
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Site at any time. We may also update these Terms. The updated Terms will take effect when posted, and the “Last updated” date above will change. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Attorney Advertising Notice, are the entire agreement between you and Pacific Street about the Site. If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent possible and the rest of the Terms will remain in effect. If we do not enforce a provision right away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to a successor firm. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including those on intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification and governing law, will survive.
