Complimentary legal office hours will connect early-stage founders with experienced attorneys as they launch and grow their businesses.

Pacific Street Law is partnering with Civic Hall and NY Tech Alliance to make experienced legal counsel more accessible to New York City's startup community.

Through the partnership, our attorneys will offer complimentary legal office hours for NY Tech Alliance members and Civic Hall startups and tenants, with meetings available on designated Office Hour days at Civic Hall, virtually, or in person on other dates at mutually convenient locations in New York City.

Starting a company involves important legal decisions, often before founders have the resources to spend substantial sums on outside counsel. Whether they're deciding how to structure a new business, hiring their first employee, or preparing to raise capital, access to experienced counsel can make a meaningful difference.

Our goal is to help founders address these questions early, understand their options, and make informed decisions as they grow.

Legal Guidance for Founders

At Pacific Street Law, we work closely with startups and emerging companies, often from their earliest days. Our lawyers advise founders on the legal issues involved in starting, financing, and operating their businesses.

Through the partnership, entrepreneurs can discuss questions involving:

  • Starting a business: Whether and how to incorporate, choosing a business structure, and setting things up with cofounders.
  • Fundraising: Raising money, bringing on investors, and understanding financing agreements.
  • Hiring and employee issues: Hiring your first employees or contractors, employment agreements, compensation, and workplace questions.
  • Contracts: Reviewing customer, vendor, and other business agreements.
  • Intellectual property: Protecting your ideas, brand, and the work created for your business.
  • Launching and growing: Understanding legal requirements for your product or service, expanding into new markets, and other questions that come up as your business develops.

Office hours are an opportunity to speak directly with an experienced startup attorney about legal questions, potential issues, and appropriate next steps.

The sessions are complimentary, with no obligation to retain Pacific Street Law for additional services.
