The Opportunity

We are seeking accomplished corporate attorneys with deep experience advising startups, venture-backed companies, and investors to help build and grow our emerging companies practice.

This is an opportunity to bring your expertise and relationships to an established client base, lead sophisticated matters, and help shape a technology-forward law firm at an early stage. Engagements are structured on a project-by-project or agreed-upon hours basis, with the flexibility to control how much work you take on.

Who You Are

You're an accomplished corporate lawyer with a reputation for excellent judgment and commercially sophisticated advice. You've trained at a leading law firm or held a senior in-house role, and you're the lawyer clients call when the answer isn't obvious. You understand the business behind the legal question and help founders, executives, and investors navigate consequential decisions.

You bring a network. You have meaningful relationships with founders, investors, general counsel, law firm partners, and former colleagues who trust your judgment and will pick up the phone when you call. You see opportunities to turn those relationships into new clients, referrals, and long-term partnerships. You want to combine that network with Pacific Street's clients, exceptional legal talent, and proprietary technology to build something larger.

You've embraced AI as a fundamental part of how you practice law, not simply a tool for isolated tasks. You combine strong legal judgment with speed, responsiveness, and an entrepreneurial mindset, and you're excited to work with legal engineers to develop new capabilities and rethink how sophisticated legal work is delivered.

Qualifications

• J.D. and active membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Significant experience in an emerging companies and venture capital practice at a leading law firm, or equivalent experience advising high-growth companies.
• Experience independently leading priced venture financings, including seed, Series A, and later-stage rounds, and advising on complex capitalization, equity incentives, and governance matters.
• Strong relationships across the startup and venture ecosystem, with the ability and interest to develop new business.
• Technology-driven practice: Advanced AI tools are already integrated into how you structure, research, analyze, advise, and deliver legal work.

What You'll Do

Depending on your expertise, clients, and interests, engagements may include:

• Advise founders and business leaders: Provide strategic counsel on complex corporate, governance, financing, and business decisions.
• Lead sophisticated transactions: Structure, negotiate, and execute venture financings, acquisitions, strategic investments, and other corporate transactions.
• Guide companies through growth: Advise on capitalization, equity incentives, founder and investor relationships, board matters, restructurings, and significant business transitions.
• Develop business and relationships: Leverage your professional network to originate matters and expand opportunities across the firm.
• Advise Pacific Street clients: Bring senior-level expertise to complex transactions and consequential legal challenges.
• Advance technology-enabled legal practice: Collaborate with legal engineers to translate your expertise into proprietary tools and workflows that improve the quality, efficiency, and scalability of legal services.
